Facial Paralysis
Dr. Zoumalan is an expert in surgical correction for those who have undergone damage to their facial nerve (the nerve that controls
the face). This damage may have come from trauma, tumor, cancer, or Bell's Palsy. He performs a variety of operations, which are specific
to the person with the problem. He has extensive experience in being able to create a face that has symmetry with comparison to the other side.
Often facial paralysis involves the eye, and patients have a difficult time closing their eyes and have too much tearing (epiphora).
He and his brother, Dr. Christopher Zoumalan MD, a Board Certified Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgeon work together to make the eye
function well and be symmetric as possible compared to the normal side.
